Analytics Engineer (m/f/d)

We're looking for an Analytics Engineer who enjoys turning raw data into reliable, trusted datasets that drive business decisions. You'll work closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to build scalable data models, improve tracking quality, and enable self-service analytics.

This role combines strong SQL skills with analytics engineering best practices and a solid understanding of digital product tracking.

Your tasks would be...

  • Build, maintain, and optimize scalable data models using dbt
  • Develop reliable, well-documented datasets for reporting and business analysis
  • Write efficient and maintainable SQL queries for complex analytical use cases
  • Maintain and improve event tracking using Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to design tracking concepts and ensure high data quality
  • Validate new tracking implementations and investigate data discrepancies
  • Implement and maintain data quality tests and monitoring within dbt
  • Support BI dashboards and reporting by creating trusted and reusable data sources
  • Continuously improve the analytics engineering stack, processes, and best practices

You will fit well, when…

  • Have strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale datasets
  • Bring hands-on experience with dbt, including models, tests, documentation, and incremental models
  • Have experience implementing and validating Google Analytics 4 (GA4) tracking
  • Understand event-based analytics and digital product measurement
  • Have worked with modern cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift
  • Are familiar with Git and collaborative development workflows
  • Possess strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ideally have experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect
  • Have experience with BI platforms such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or Metabase
  • Have knowledge of JavaScript or Google Tag Manager for tracking implementations
  • Bring experience with experimentation (A/B testing) and product analytics
  • Are familiar with Python for data processing or automation

What is the typical hiring process?

After your CV submission, our HR team will get in touch with you. The first call is to get to know the company and the position better; of course, you will get a chance to introduce your ambitious self then. After comes a call with your future Teamlead, which is followed by a case study. The last step is to meet the team and visit one of our locations. Usually. We will always inform you about the next steps during the interviews.

How long is the hiring process?

It will take us a week to get back to you after your CV submission. If everything goes smoothly, the interview processes can be finished in roughly 4-6 weeks.

What is it like to work at Wellster?

What language do people speak at Wellster?

Official language of the company is English. We operate so far only on the German Market - so some people/departments must speak German. All the other languages are super welcome to join “the most prevailing language” contest :)
